Meerut: Two cyber youths have been arrested by the cyber cell who defrauded themselves from bank accounts, claiming to be army officers. This gang used to make calls to sell and buy goods after seeing Ads on OLX. Later, he used to blow money with the details of the account holder. Police is searching for half a dozen accused related to this gang.

SSP Ajay Sahni told in the press conference that the accused arrested are Irfan son Summar and Wajid alias Azid son Mahendra, resident of village Devaseras Govardhan police station Mathura. Two mobile phones and Rs 1300 has been recovered from them. Both the accused said that as a Subedar, they used to search the store of goods from 'Google.com' and call the shop owner's number, whereby shopkeepers and other people used to talk about buying goods. After making a deal to buy goods from the shop owner or other people, he used to login to the shopkeeper's paytm wallet on the phone by sending a link for giving the amount in advance, claiming himself as a soldier. After logging in, they used to do fraud with people and hack their wallets. After that, they used to withdraw money from accounts.

When talking to people about this, it came to know that some people used to ask the OTP by sending a link to the shopkeeper by asking his Paytm, Google Pay, PhonePe number, on the pretext of giving money online in advance. After which, instead, they used to blow money from the victim's account only. When the victim came to know that the money was deducted from the account, he used to confuse the victim that the money would be returned from Paytm. This gang used to show themselves in the Indian Army by creating fake IDs on WhatsApp and OLX so that people can easily believe. After which, by selling bikes, scooties, cars, bicycles, mobile phones, they used to get money in advance online, on phones, in Paytm accounts. The accused have 11 cases registered in Mathura and Meerut.
