In such a situation, problem is that no official wants to be posted in Banda, the most sensitive jail in the state. For the last eight months, the jail, which has a senior superintendent rank officer in Banda, is now being run by the jailer. 3 officers were posted. But none of the officers joined. At 4 a.m. on April 6, 2021, Mukhtar Ansari was brought from Ropar jail in Punjab and lodged in barrack number 16 of Banda jail. Since then, Banda jail has been one of the most sensitive prisons. Banda jail is a divisional jail, that is, this jail will not be manned by a jailor, but only a senior officer of the rank of senior superintendent. However, even in such a sensitive jail, only one jailor and two deputy jailors are posted. Since Mukhtar reached Banda jail, the government sent three officers to the post of jail superintendent, but none of them joined.

As soon as the process of bringing Mukhtar Ansari to Banda jail began, Banda jailor Ranjit Kumar Singh became absent from October 17, 2020. This was the reason why Hamirpur jailor PK Tripathi was sent to Banda jail from October 19, 2020, till Mukhtar Ansari arrived. When Mukhtar Ansari reached Banda jail, AK Singh from Unnao was made jail superintendent and transferred to Banda. On May 17, 2021, AK Singh took over as jail superintendent after Mukhtar reached Banda jail. But after 5 months, he went on medical treatment and continued to extend the medical treatment for 2-2 weeks. Then the government had to transfer AK Singh to Lucknow training headquarters on December 23, 2021.

The government appointed Bareilly jail superintendent Vijay Vikram Singh as the jail superintendent of Banda, but Vijay Vikram Singh did not join the post of Banda jail superintendent and went on medical grounds. The government suspended Vijay Vikram Singh on December 29, 2021, and also dropped him from the promotion list on December 30. Recently, the name of Lucknow jail superintendent Ashish Tiwari was sent by the jail headquarters to the Banda jail superintendent in the government. According to sources, Ashish Tiwari also refused to go to Banda and returned the jail superintendent's proposal.

On the non-posting of jail superintendent in Banda jail, Additional Chief Secretary Home Awanish Awasthi said that it is not affecting any work in Banda jail. The security of the prison is fully good. Due to the shortage of jail superintendent level officers, many jails are without superintendents, the next time there is a promotion, this shortage will be fulfilled.
