Like Jamtara in Jharkhand, notorious for cybercrimes in the country and the world, Deoghar has now become a new hideout for cyber thugs. The Deoghar police have conducted a major investigation and detained 11 persons. Police have also seized a car along with several mobile laptops etc. Police had found about the activation of cybercriminals in the area on the basis of which cyber police conducted raids in Kurumtand, Jhagrahi, and Bagdaha villages of Sarath police station area and Kapsa village in Devipur police station area. Eleven persons have been taken into custody here. This is the second major police investigation against cyber thugs in a week.
The detained persons have been identified as Durju Rana, Sanjay Lal, Chhotu Rana, Dinanath Mandal, Rahul Kumar Mandal, Raj Kumar Mandal, Govind Mandal, Jitendra Mirdha, Chhotu Mirdha, Pawan Mirdha, and Shailesh Das. These people sometimes call on behalf of a bank officer and sometimes on behalf of a company and get bank information from people and lime them.
Police have also seized 22 mobile phones, a laptop, 35 SIM cards, seven ATM cards, Rs 32,000 cash, 4 passbooks, 4 checkbooks, and SBI papers from the criminals. In addition, police have also seized a Hyundai Varna car worth Rs 9 lakh from them.
Five criminals were arrested on December 12: Earlier on December 12, Deoghar police had taken similar action against cybercriminals and 5 criminals had been taken into custody. The police have to say that such cybercriminals who have cheated people online will not be spared at any cost and we are going to take continuous action against them.
