Police seize 30 bags of subsidized fertilizer, 3 arrested

Recently Haiborgaon police, led by SI Taranga Patowari, seized 30 bags of fertilisers that the government had allocated at subsidised prices for farmers from a Dimapur-bound Star bus, while the bags were being illegally transported in the bus from Moirabari to be sold in Dimapur, Nagaland.

Three were later detained by police. According to sources, three Moirabari suspects – Ashikul Islam, Tajnul Islam, and Abu Hanifa – were allegedly transporting 30 bags of fertiliser on a bus to Dimapur to be sold to someone else. In this situation, the police have opened an investigation and have filed a case. According to sources, a big gang of smugglers was operating in the district's illegal trade of subsidised fertiliser.

Nagaon police, on the other hand, arrested two other youngsters from the Sivasagar Amguri region for sheltering wanted fraudster Mridupaban Neog in their home. Raktim Gogoi and Abhijeet Gogoi of Amguri, Sivasagar district, were allegedly detained for sheltering wanted fraudster Mridupaban Neog in their homes, according to sources.

According to reports, both the apprehended youngsters were interrogated for a long time by Nagaon police at Nagaon Police Station in tracking down the absconding criminal, Mridupaban Neog.
