More than 3,000 labor trains have been operated so far to transport migrant workers from different parts of India to their home state. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, giving this information on Monday, requested for more cooperation from various states to help the laborers. Describing the account of workers' special trains, the Union Minister once again targeted Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

In his statement, Goyal said, 'Where is the list of 125 trains from Maharashtra? Till 2 pm, only the list of 46 trains was received by the Maharashtra government. Five of these trains were for hurricane-affected Bengal and Odisha, which cannot be operated. Despite being ready for 125 trains, we were able to notify only 41 trains from Maharashtra on Monday.'

The dispute between Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal started on Sunday, when Thackeray, through a webcast, told the people of the state that the Railways had given Maharashtra its adequate labor trains have not been provided as per demand. He also claimed to hand over the list of workers for 200 trains to the Railways.
