The political uproar over the UAPA Act continues in Punjab. Punjab CM Amarinder Singh and Sukhbir are making rhetoric on each other on the UAPA Act. Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has targeted Sukhbir Badal, president of Shiromani Akali Dal. Amarinder Singh told that Sukhbir Badal should not threaten. He said, do not be a puppet in the hands of separatist forces by provoking the youth of Punjab against the police. After this statement by CM Amarinder, Sukhbir Singh Badal has replied. Sukhbir Badal told that the Chief Minister of Punjab is showing the thinking of Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India.

Taking aim at Sukhbir Badal, CM Amarinder said that do not threaten nor bring up the matter by instigating the youth. Sukhbir's alleged threat on the recent arrests under the Unlawful Activity Prevention Act (UAPA) has created a ruckus. In which the Captain said that to protect the unity and integrity of Punjab and India, all measures will be taken in accordance with the law. He said that Sukhbir's threats cannot hold me back from fixing people's safety.

CM Amarinder Singh said that he should either inform about the wrongdoing under the UAPA or stop the useless rhetoric. Also, while reminding the time of the Akali and BJP government in Punjab, the Captain said that Sukhbir should keep in mind that at that time more than 60 cases were registered under this Act. Of these, there were 19 cases in 2010 and 12 cases in 2017. Out of 225 people, 120 were released by the court.
