Amritsar: Former IGP Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, who joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has recently alleged that the Punjab Police may have read the 'Blue Book' of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) related to VIP security due to political interference. Will only ever follow. Let us tell you that his statement came at a time when PM Narendra Modi had reached Punjab on Wednesday to lay the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 42,000 crore, but had to return due to security lapse.

Addressing the media in Amritsar, Kunwar claimed that there was a serious lapse in PM Modi's security. He has also said that the 'Blue Book' related to security protocols for VIPs like President, Vice President and Prime Minister was to be followed. Let us tell you that in the assembly elections to be held in Punjab, Kunwar will be the AAP's candidate from Amritsar North. He said that the surprising thing is that these days hardly any official knows about the Blue Book in the state. Under the current political system, politicians have made police officers their slaves.

He said officers have to follow 'political' guidelines instead of prescribed procedures. Let us tell you that while talking to the media, Kunwar Vijay Singh was talking as a former police officer instead of a representative of a political party. It does not matter which party the Prime Minister belongs to, he said. I am concerned that wherever the Prime Minister goes, a security grid should be ensured.
