A political battle has once again erupted in Bihar over the prohibition of alcoholism. BJP JLC Sanjay Paswan warned the Nitish government to reconsider the prohibition of liquor after the death of an inspector in an encounter with liquor smugglers in Sitamarhi, while the JDU was quick to respond. JDU leaders said that the Bihar government and CM Nitish Kumar are serious about the liquor ban. There is no compromise with liquor mafias in the state.
It has been learned that BJP MLC Sanjay Paswan has not only asked for a reconsideration of the prohibition on Sitamarhi encounter but also questions are being raised on the functioning of the Home Ministry. In his gestures, he had targeted the Home Secretary, saying that the Home Secretary is our friend, but the Home Ministry is no longer taking any action over him. The way events are happening, he should resign from his post. Here, the opposition and the government are constantly being targeted on various issues including law and order. Leaders of the opposition are raising questions both inside and outside the assembly. The leaders of opposition parties have also started fiercely under siege of the government over the Sitamarhi encounter. The government is responding to the opposition on one side and the statements of BJP leaders who are allies in the government on the other side are disturbing it. BJP MLC Sanjay Paswan's statement on prohibition has increased the problem of JDU.
JDU gave this answer: On the statement of BJP MLC Sanjay Paswan, JDU MLC Gulam Gaus said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his government are serious about prohibition. We do not care who says what. It is not going to be compromised in any way. He said that the statement of BJP MLC is considered to be his own personal view. The truth is that there is strong work going on against the liquor ban in Bihar. Minister Ashok Chaudhary said that those who raise questions on prohibition should see how serious the government is in this matter.
