Lucknow: Polling for Azamgarh and Rampur Lok Sabha by-elections is underway from 7 am today. There is enthusiasm among the voters to vote in both the seats. There has been a long queue of voters at the booths since morning. The credibility of SP and BJP is at stake in both the seats. The counting of votes will take place on June 26. Bsp has not given candidate in Rampur.  

In Azamgarh, Guddu Jamali is the BSP candidate. All the parties, SP-BJP and BSP, are claiming their respective victories. The BJP has put its full life into both the seats this time. While Akhilesh Yadav kept himself away from the by-election campaign. He neither went to Azamgarh nor to Rampur for campaigning. After the victory in the last assembly elections, by-elections to Azamgarh and Rampur seats had to be held due to resignation of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and Azam Khan from lok sabha membership.

Samajwadi Party (SP) has fielded former Badaun MP Dharmendra Yadav in Azamgarh, while BJP has fielded Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirahua as its candidate. Nirahua had also contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as a BJP candidate from Azamgarh, but akhilesh yadav defeated him. This time, Nirahua and the entire BJP are claiming his victory.

The candidate cried bitterly after clinging to her husband, this situation happened on the middle of the road.
