As per the Box office report Vikram Vedha saw a drop of 45 percent on its first Monday after managing to record a decent figure at the boxoffice during the weekend. The film collected around ₹5.5 crore on Monday, taking its total four-day collection to ₹43 crore. Vikram Vedha stars Hrithik Roshan  and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles. Vikram Vedha collected around ₹5.5 crore nett on Monday, which will be a drop of around 45 percent.

Vikram Vedha is based on the story of the folklore Vikram and Betaal.  Here Vikram is played by Saif an Honest officer and  Hrithik a Vedha. Saif motive is to catch Vedha and in the folk tale, Vikram ventures into the deep dark forest to retract Betaal, a looming soul attached to a tree, to present him in front of a saint and help his kingdom.

Ponniyin Selvan 1 Box office lavishly mounted film has earned Rs 250 crore in its worldwide gross box office collection in the first week of its release, the makers said on Monday. Featuring a star-studded cast of Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the Tamil historical drama hit the theatres last Friday.

Ponniyin Selvan is the first part of a two-part franchise that has been shot on a massive budget of 500 crore rupees.  Based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s popular novel on the life of Raja Raja Chozhan,  Ponniyin Selvan: Part One has a screenplay written by Mani Ratnam, Jeyamohan and Kumaravel. PS1 will be the first of a two-part film series. It stars South Star Vikram as Aditya Karikalan, Karthi as Vanthiyathevan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Nandini, Trisha as Kundhavai, and Jayam Ravi as Arulmozhi Varman.
