Panaji: After the survey report of the disputed Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi, the city of Baba Vishwanath, now Goa CM Pramod Sawant has also stressed on the reconstruction of the temples of Goa which were demolished by the Portuguese. For this, he has talked about releasing the budget by the government. With this, he told the duty of the government to attract the tourists coming to Goa towards the temples. CM Pramod Sawant said that soon Goa will be included in the best states of the country. I am proud that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) is in force in Goa since independence. The same law should be applicable across the country as well. The delay in the independence of Goa was due to the Congress. Due to the policies of this party, Goa became independent in 1967 after 20 years in the country that became independent in 1947. After the BJP government came to power in 2012, the work which could not be done in 60 years, we have done it in 10 years till 2022.

Goa CM Pramod Sawant further said that, 'The Portuguese destroyed the original Hindu culture of Goa for 450 years. We are trying to restore that culture. What's the harm in that? Wherever broken temples are being built now, those temples must be built. For this this time the government has allocated Rs 20 crore in its budget.
