Many things are coming out about the engineering entrance exam JEE Main and medical entrance exam NEET. Many politicians have given their statements on this. Now recently, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has put his point about this. By writing a letter to the Union Ministry of Education, he has requested to postpone the Engineering Entrance Examination JEE Main and Medical Entrance Examination NEET being held in September.

He wrote in his letter, "50 thousand children are to be included in JEE Main from Odisha and 40 thousand children in NEET. However, ATA has established centres in only 7 townships in the state. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, it will be unsafe for children to go to the examination centre. Apart from this, locally lockdown has been imposed in many districts in view of cases of Covid-19 infection. Transport facilities are also disrupted there. Apart from this, a large tribal area of Odisha is far from the urban areas. Students of tribal areas will have to travel a long way for the examination. In such a situation, I request to postpone the exam and get it done later".

Patnaik also said that "Whenever the NTA conducts the examination, it should be conducted in all the 30 districts of the state so that it does not take more than 2-3 hours for the students to reach the centre. This will ensure maximum participation of students in the exam". Not only Patnaik but many politicians including Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Maharashtra cabinet minister Aditya Thackeray have urged Central Government to postpone NEET and JEE exams.
