Ranchi: In some parts of Jharkhand state, the problem of people who are unhappy due to power cuts several times is about to end. Because Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) will restore normal power supply from Saturday. Earlier, Education Minister Jagarnath Mahato had warned that if the situation did not improve soon, the supply of coal and water to the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), which supplies electricity, would be stopped.

The same Education Minister Jagarnath Mahto said that Damodar Valley Corporation has given its approval to restore 600 MW power supply to Jharkhand every day and this process will start from Saturday. In the meeting held with DVC, along with Education Minister Mahto, Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon was also involved. Minister Mahto said that discussions were held with the Chairman of DVC and the officers of its board on the issue of power cut in Jharkhand. State Finance Minister was also present in this meeting. In the meeting, DVC has assured that the supply of 600 MW power will be resumed from Saturday.

In the same meeting, the minister took a dig at the DVC chief and said that Coal India owes Rs 60,000 crore to the state government, but does it mean that we should stop its mining operations. The DVC put forth the matter of the outstanding amount before the government. On this, the state minister Mahto said that the government would try to settle the disputes with the DVC. DVC had spoken of an outstanding amount of Rs 2,100 crore.
