New Delhi: Pollution has always been a serious problem in the national capital of Delhi. Burning of stubble in the fields of neighbouring states, excessive vehicular traffic on Delhi's roads, continuous violations of rules in industrial areas worsens the situation in the initial days of winter. Today, the Central government has sent a notice to the Delhi government and ordered to take necessary measures to reduce pollution.

Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar while talking to the media said, 'Stubble burning has stopped, yet the pollution level in Delhi is very poor. At some places, the air quality index is above 300 and 400.' Javadekar said that 50 teams of Central Pollution Control Board visit various places in Delhi-NCR every day and forward the complaints received there to the concerned agency.

Javadekar said that some work is done on those complaints, but mostly no action is taken. This indicates the severity of the condition. The Union Minister said that today the Central Pollution Control Board has sent a notice to the Delhi Government. He said that the notice has raised concerns about burning of garbage, execution of garbage, violation of building construction rules, dust blowing in the industrial area. Instructions have been given to take action on whatever causes of pollution.
