Smita Patil’s son Prateik Babbar got engaged to girlfriend Sanya Sagar on January 22. The roka ceremony took place in Lucknow in the presence of immediate family including Raj Babbar, his aunts (late mother Smita Patil's) and Sanya's parents. The 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' star took to Instagram to announce the happy news with an adorable picture. Actor Prateik Babbar got engaged to girlfriend Sanya Sagar on Monday in Lucknow. Sanya and Prateik have known each other for eight years and decided to make ot official on the auspicious day of Basant Panchmi. Prateik is the son of Smita Patil and Raj Babbar.

According to a the latest report, Sanya and Prateik got engaged in a private ceremony at Sanya’s farmhouse in Lucknow. The entire menu was decided by Sanya - a seven-course Lucknowi meal that included Prateik’s favourite rajma, it added. The actor also shared a picture from the ceremony, hinting at the engagement. “#monday.. “holy snappp!.. that just happened!”,” he posted on Instagram.

Sanya has completed her postgraduate course in filmmaking from Goldsmiths University. On the work front, Prateik will soon be seen as an antagonist in Baaghi 2. The film also features Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani. Talking about his late mother, Prateik said, “I constantly feel her presence, she is my guardian angel and guiding force.”
