Lucknow: Police are taking swift action in connection with the violence that broke out in Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh on Friday (June 10, 2022) after Friday prayers. Prayagraj SSP Ajay Kumar, while giving details of the incident, said that a mastermind named Javed Ahmed has been arrested. Apart from this there may be many more masterminds, inquiries about them are ongoing.

He said that in yesterday's incident, some people have forwarded minor children and pelted stones at the police administration. The SSP said that a case will be registered under 29 important sections in the case and action will be taken under the Gangster Act and RASUKA. An FIR has been lodged against 70 named and 5,000 unidentified persons. According to the information, action will also be taken against Javed Ahmed's daughter in the case. SSP Ajay Kumar has said that, Javed's daughter is also involved in such activities. She is a student in Delhi. If required, we will contact the Delhi Police and send our teams. '

There are also reports of people associated with Asaduddin Owaisi's party AIMIM being involved in the incident. On this, the SSP says that no such connection has been confirmed yet. Evidence is being collected for further action. Prayagraj District Magistrate Sanjay Kumar Khatri said 68 people have been arrested and a large number of police forces have been deployed in the violence-hit area.
