On Thursday, Union Health Secretary Preeti Sudan wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary of all states and union territories asking them to focus on migrant laborers in different parts of the country. In her letter, she has also asked to follow the directions of the Supreme Court on this matter. The Supreme Court had issued a direction to redress the grievances of the migrant laborers.

According to the Ministry of Health, the number of patients in India has increased to 1,965. 1,764 patients are undergoing treatment. 150 people have recovered and 50 have died. There have been 131 new cases in the last 12 hours.
