Preity Zinta and KXIP mentor Virendra Sehwag exchange words of anger

One of the fearless batsmen in his long career, Virendra Sehwag, found himself at the receiving end of the bitter verbal fight from KIXP co-owner Preity Zinta. On Tuesday, the team Kings XI Punjab failed to conquer the modest target of 158 against RR team.

According to the reports, this incident could end the five-year association of Kings XI mentor Sehwag's with the franchise, jointly owned by Preity, Ness Wadia, and businessman Mohit Burman. This can happen with the end of Indian Premier League 2018.

Preity Zinta reached to have a word with Sehwag even before the players had retired to their changing room, sources said. She immediately questioned him about the 'tactics' used during the match. The sources further said that Virendra Sehwag initially played awesomely. “However, when Preity continued to blame him, saying ‘unnecessary’ tinkering with the playing XI had led to a spate of defeats, Sehwag tried to reason with her,”

As per the leading daily, this is not the first time that Virendra Sehwag has a problem because of Preity “interfering” in his job.  A franchise source told that Virendra had told the other owners to rein in Preity. He told the owners that he’ll not comment on Preity’s acting chops and she should refrain from talking about his cricketing wisdom."

This is also not the first time that the team KIXP coaching staff had to face Preity's verbal abuse, quotes TOI. In 2016, one of the leading newspaper had reported how the then coach, Sanjay Bangar, was threatened with sacking by Zinta after a string of failures. On that occasion, after denying the incident, Preity took to social media to vent her anger.
