Indore: Everything was stalled due to lockdown. But now things are slowly becoming common. Western Railway has prepared to start operating six of the trains operating from Indore. These include the proposal to start Indore-Mumbai Avantika Express, Mhow-Katra Malwa Superfast, Indore-Howrah Shipra Express, Indore-Pune Superfast, Indore-Gandhi Nagar Shanti Express and Mhow-Kamakhya Express trains. It is believed that whenever the Railway Board announces to run more trains in the near future, then these trains of Indore will also be included in it.

In fact, in the first round, the Railway Board had announced to run 200 trains across the country, but they did not include a single train from Indore. Five trains from Indore have been added to the trains running in the second phase. Avantika, Malwa and Shanti Express run daily, while Indore-Pune five days a week, Shipra Express three days a week and Indore-Kamakhya train run one day a week.

The sources said that the Railway Board had recently asked proposals across the country to run potential trains which have racks available to run and technically there is no problem in their operation. After that, Ratlam Division of Western Railway has sought permission to resume operations of six trains running or passing from Indore. The operation of all trains associated with Indore is currently cancelled due to Covid-19. After the lockdown, 200 special trains are running across the country from June 1. In this case, not a single train has run from Indore. Therefore, there was a constant demand that trains from Indore should be started.
