President Ramnath Kovind has approved the SC-ST Amendment Act 2018. With this, the Supreme Court's decision has now become neutral. Now, there will be an immediate arrest in the matter of harassing the Dalits and even advance bail cannot be found. The Supreme Court had a hearing on March 20 that the case will not be registered immediately after getting the complaint in the SC-ST Torture Prevention Act. Officials of DSP level will investigate the matter first. If the person is found guilty in the investigation then he will be arrested.

The Section-18A has been added in this Amendment Act, which says that before filing an FIR against the person who violates this law, there is no need to investigate and neither the investigating officer should be arrested before arresting the accused. There is a need to get permission from.

The SC / ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Bill 2018 was presented in the Rajya Sabha. It has been passed in the Lok Sabha earlier. To amend the Act in its old and original form, the Constitution Amendment Bill was passed by the vote in the Lok Sabha. During this, the BJP and the opposition accused each other of being Dalit and anti-reservation. Asking the opposition to put this act into the new schedule of the Constitution, questioning the government's intention not to issue an ordinance in this matter while the BJP accused the Congress of doing injustice to the Dalits and tribals.
