Jharkhand: Droupadi Murmu, the President of India,  addressed a Women's Conference organized by the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs in  Jharkhand's Khunti today, May 25, said a statement by Deputy Press Secretary to President Navika Gupta.

Addressing the meet, the President noted that being a woman or being born in a tribal society is not a disadvantage. She mentioned the numerous positive instances of women's contributions to our nation, including their vital work in social change, politics, the economy, education, science and research, business, sports, and the military, among many other disciplines.

The President went on to say that in order to succeed in any sector, a person must first recognise their aptitude and stop comparing themselves to others. She advised women to tap into the limitless power they possess.

The president emphasised the importance of both the social and economic facets of women's empowerment when discussing it. She claimed that Jharkhand's diligent sisters and daughters were all capable of significantly enhancing both the state's economy and the growth of the entire nation.

The Indian President exhorted the ladies of Jharkhand to grasp their potential, saying, "Recognise your talent and move ahead with confidence." The President further stated that Jharkhand's rural economy benefits from the strength of women. Therefore, it is crucial to link more and more women in Jharkhand with self-help groups and create jobs via the development of their skills.

She also expressed optimism that women will learn more about their rights and the many government initiatives run in their best interests as a result of this Conference. In many areas, tribal societies serve as excellent models. One of these is the lack of dowry systems in tribal societies, she said.

The Presidnet also noted that many members of our society, including those with advanced degrees, have not yet been able to abandon the practise of dowries.
