NEW DELHI: Today, President Droupadi Murmu welcomed probationers from the Military Engineer Services (MES) to Rashtrapati Bhavan. During her address, she emphasized the critical role that MES plays in ensuring national security. MES not only supports the Indian Army but also aids various other units within the Ministry of Defence.

President Murmu highlighted the importance of creating and maintaining high-quality infrastructure for the defense forces. She reminded the probationers that their success is measured by the reliability and quality of the facilities they provide. She urged them to stay vigilant and earn respect by upholding the highest standards in their work.

She also encouraged MES officers to incorporate climate change considerations into their projects. Emphasizing the need to reduce their carbon footprint, President Murmu expressed her approval of MES's ongoing efforts in this area.

Furthermore, she underscored that MES officers have responsibilities that go beyond technical skills. They must also manage resources efficiently and ethically. She concluded by stressing that the effectiveness and integrity of MES officers are essential for bolstering national security.
