President of UAE meets Macron of France during diplomatic trip

Dubai: On Thursday in Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.

The two leaders discussed the long-standing strategic alliance between the UAE and France and looked at ways to deepen their cooperation in a range of areas, according to state news agency WAM.

The French president greeted his counterpart from the UAE at the Élysée Palace and expressed his happiness that they would be meeting again in France.

Sheikh Mohamed complimented Macron once more and expressed gratitude for the cordial welcome.

Sheikh Mohamed and the French president discussed ways to improve cooperation in priority areas such as culture, environment, climate change, space, and renewable energy. They reaffirmed their strong commitment to further solidifying the countries' long-standing ties.

Their discussions also touched on other topics essential to both nations' goals for sustainable development, such as investment, the economy, food security, and cutting-edge technology.

The COP28 climate conference, which will be held in the UAE later this year, was another topic of conversation between Sheikh Mohamed and President Macron.

 

Both leaders reaffirmed their shared conviction about the value and potential of teamwork. They declared that pursuing coordinated actions to combat climate change was a top priority for both nations.
