In a major reshuffle, President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed eight new governors giving them charge of the administration of new states. While many were transferred, others were new appointments.
PS. Sreedharan Pillai, Governor of Mizoram, was transferred and appointed as Governor of Goa. P.S. Sreedharan Pillai will be arriving in the state in mid-July and will be administered the oath of office after his arrival. Further, Satyadev Narayan Arya, Governor of Haryana is transferred and appointed as Governor of Tripura; Ramesh Bais, Governor of Tripura is transferred and appointed as Governor of Jharkhand; Bandaru Dattatraya, Governor of Himachal Pradesh is transferred and appointed as Governor of Haryana.
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Wednesday. " PS. Sreedharan Pillai is our senior BJP leader from Kerala and was serving as the Governor of Mizoram. I spoke to him again today. He is likely to come to Goa either on July 15 or 16, when he will administer the oath of office. The appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices, said the office of the President.
