New Delhi: The President has approved the new ordinance of Modi government regarding the attack on health workers. President Ram Nath Kovind on Thursday approved the Pandemic Diseases (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020. According to the ordinance, assault on health workers will now be a non-bailable offence. The investigation will be completed in 30 days. The decision will come in a year.

A serious case can carry a sentence of imprisonment ranging from 6 months to 7 years. Also, depending on the severity of the incident, fines ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 2 lakh can also be imposed.
