New Delhi: The country's President Ram Nath Kovind has urged the countrymen to always respect the right to vote. He said that it is not a simple right, but people have fought a lot to get it all over the world. President Kovind was addressing the 11th National Voters' Day celebrations held by the Election Commission in New Delhi through video conferencing from Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, President Ram Nath Kovind distributed national awards for the year 2020-21 for best electoral practice to the officials for outstanding performance in conducting elections in various fields. He launched the election Commission's web radio 'Hello voters' by pressing the remote button for awareness among voters. With the tagline 'Every vote is necessary ', it would provide all the information related to voting and election to the voters.
Let's say hello voters are an online digital radio service in which voter awareness programmes will be conducted. It will be accessible through a link on the election Commission's website. It will provide information and education of electoral processes through songs, dramas, discussions, spots, election stories in Hindi, English and other Indian languages.
