PRIDE OF INDIA: Rohan Bopanna in French Open 2017 Finale

The only forth Indian, Rohan Bopanna has been able to pull off the Grand Slam trophy  by reaching in the French Open mixed doubles final with partner Gabriela Dabrowski.

Bopanna and his Canadian partner, seeded seventh left Andrea Hlavackova and Edouard Roger-Vasselin, seeded third, in marvel by defeating them by 7-5 6-3 in the semifinals. 

They will now face Germany's Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Colombia's Robert Farah, who crushed Casey Dellacqua and Rajeev Ram 6-7(5) 6-3 10-5 in other semifinal contest.

It is the second time that Bopanna has made towards the summit clash of a Grand Slam. In 2010, he had reached the final of US Open men's doubles with Pakistani partner Aisam-ul-haq-Qureshi and lost to veteran Bryan brothers --Bob and Mike.

Only three Indians, the legends: Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza have been able to earn a Grand Slam Trophy and now Bopanna is on the field to carry the legacy.
