Anuppur: A priest committed suicide by hanging himself in Kotma police station area of Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh after a case was registered under the ST-SC Act. The family accused the police of demanding Rs 1 lakh. On Thursday, SP Jitendra Pawar attached the line to police station in-charge Ajay Baiga. He has been suspended today.

The police had registered a case against the priest Rameshwar Pandey under sections 294, 323, 506, and 3(1)(d), 3(1)d, 3(2)(va) STSC Act and released him on bail after 24 hours. After this, on the morning of June 1, Rameshwar Pandey committed suicide by hanging himself in the house.
