Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Kevadiya in Gujarat to be present at the annual conference of state Director Generals of Police (DGP).

The three-day national conference is also attended by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.The conference will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.Ahead of DGP Conference PM Modi will also be accorded the Gaurd of Honour.

Police Officials from different state will also perform Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat Parade.

Addressing the opening session of the conference on Thursday, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that the internal Security situation in the nation has vastly improved, mainly in the North-East and the Left wing extremism affected States.

Home Minister awarded three police stations--- Kalu in Rajasthan, Campbell Bay in Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Farakka in West Bengal for their distinct performance.

Earlier Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated that empowerment of grassroots institutions is a significant step in taking Jammu and Kashmir in securing the rights and development of the local people and taking away from violent behavior.

Prime Minister Modi stated this while interacting with 48 newly elected Sarpanches of Panchayats from the state who called on him in the national capital New Delhi on Wednesday.
