New Delhi: Some of the ambitious schemes launched by the Modi government at the center in its first term include PMAGY i.e.Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana. With the help of this scheme, the government aims to bring development to rural parts of the country. Under this scheme, every MP has to adopt a village. Which he will make an ideal village. But the government's plan could not be successful in the last five years. Now the government has planned to improve it.

In this phase of PMAGY 2019-24 scheme, it has also been made mandatory to select 50% scheduled caste villages. Apart from this, the functioning of MPs will be assessed on the basis of development work done in at least three and a maximum five villages in the next five years. A senior official of the rural development ministry pointed out that the new rules are not only equipped with stricter standards. These include the goal of completing the development works on time. Continuous monitoring of 12 committees will ensure the success of development works.

The official said that the scheme runs with the cooperation of several ministries, so this time the time limit for development works has been fixed for a maximum of two years. PMAGY was launched by PM Modi in 2014. In 2015-16, about 1297 villages were to be made Adarsh villages, but only 140 villages got 100% work done. In July 2019, the government released the details of completion of only 51 percent of the work in the remaining villages. Therefore, the government has now made elaborate arrangements for the Adarsh Gram Yojana.

The standards that MPs have to follow to make Adarsh Village are the system of water and drinking water required for everyday use in the village. The necessity of toilets with each house. The mandatory bank account of all villagers including Skill Development Center. It is necessary to have drinking water and toilets in all schools and anganwadis. Restoration of roads, health services, availability of nutritious food, implementation of widow and old age pension etc. The objective of this scheme of the government is to promote development in rural parts of the country.
