Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the 7500th Janaushadhi Center in Shillong to the nation through video conferencing at the Jan Aushadhi Day function. During this, PM Modi started the Jan Aushadhi Scheme and said, 'From my discussion with the people running in every corner of the country and some of its beneficiaries, it is clear that this scheme becomes a great companion of poor and middle-class families. This scheme is becoming the medium of both service and employment.' Along with this, PM Modi said, 'Along with cheap medicines in Jan Aushadhi Kendras, the youth are also getting the means of income. Our sisters and daughters are provided with sanitary pads for just two and a half rupees, so this has a positive effect on their health. So far, more than 11 crore sanitary napkins have been sold at these centers.'

He further said, 'This scheme is helping to give cheap medicines to the countrymen living in hilly areas, North East, tribal areas. Today when the 7500th center was inaugurated, it is in Shillong. It is clear from this that how much Janushadhi centers are expanding in the North-East.' Further extending his point, PM Modi said, 'For a long time, in the government's thinking of the country, health was considered as the subject of disease and treatment only, but the subject of health is not only about freedom from disease, it is the whole social and Affects economic fabric.'

Apart from this, PM Modi said, 'India is the world's pharmacy, it has been proven, the world takes our generic medicines, but we were not encouraged here, now we have emphasized on this sector also. The world has experienced the power of India's medicines in the coronary period.'
