New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday deferred hearing on a plea filed by Ashwini Upadhyay seeking de-recognition of political parties promising free poll facilities. The matter will now come up for further hearing on August 17. The Supreme Court has asked the Election Commission that all political parties give their manifesto to you before the elections.

Along with this, the Supreme Court has also reprimanded the Election Commission. The court said that we do not get affidavits, but they get it in newspapers and it is also printed there. We have also read the affidavit in the newspaper today. BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the announcement of free schemes by political parties, saying that it hurts the country's economy. When the court asked the Election Commission about this, the Commission said that there is no clear definition about free schemes. At the same time, the Election Commission told the court that a committee should be formed in this regard, but we should be kept away from that committee because we are a constitutional body.

Thereafter, the Supreme Court also reprimanded the Election Commission. The court said that we have not received your affidavit, but have reached the newspapers. We have read your affidavit in the morning newspaper. Let us tell you that PM Narendra Modi had called free Rewari culture regarding free schemes in the elections. At the same time, the Aam Aadmi Party is also an attacker on the PM regarding this. An affidavit has also been filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of the Aam Aadmi Party, in which it has also been demanded to be made a party.
