The young Batsman Prithvi Shaw has impressed the audience with his phenomenal performances. It was a heartbreaking moment for a young player when he was dismissed on 99 against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi on Saturday. Shaw looked in great touch determined to take his side home. But he lost his concentration when he was on 99. He tried to pull a Lockie Ferguson delivery to bring up the triple-figure mark but top-edged it to be dismissed on that unlucky score.

By scoring just one more run he could have become the youngest ever centurion in the history of the IPL. Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Manish Pandey currently holds the record of being the youngest player to score a hundred in the IPL at 19 years and 253 days. But had Prithvi completed his century, he would have broken the record as his age is 19 years and 142 days.

In contrasting fashion, Shaw joined an unwanted list in the IPL. He became the second batsman after Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli to get out on 99 in an IPL match.

After match, the young Batsman said, "I thought I missed the opportunity to finish the game for the team. Rather than scoring one run, I was looking to hit it big because I didn't want the game to get this close. But the boys finished it off really well in the super over and I think we deserve this win.
