Mumbai: Former Maharashtra CM and Congress veteran Prithviraj Chavan have attacked the central government for not calling the winter session of Parliament. He said that these are not good signs for democracy. Prithviraj Chavan said, 'The Center has cancelled the winter session. I strongly condemn this.'

He further said that Russia and India are the only two countries which have cancelled the parliamentary session. This is not a good sign for democracy. If there could be assembly elections, if there could be election rallies… then winter session should have been called. It is a dictatorship and nothing else. Prithviraj Chavan also targeted the Modi government on the issue of farmer agitation. He said why did the Center pass these agricultural laws so quickly? They should have taken the time to pass it.

Chavan further said that Punjab and Haryana are suffering losses due to this strike. But who is responsible for this protest? Why are farmers doing this? The economy is being affected by the strike. However, this time the winter session of Parliament is not being held citing the Corona epidemic. This is happening after a long time when there is no session of Parliament. On this issue, Congress leader in the Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, wrote a letter to the Parliamentary Minister.
