Priyanka Chopra is creating headlines since her ‘Roka’ cermony with Singer Nick Jonas. Now amidist all these there is one another good news for Desi girl as her film ‘Pahuna’ bagged two awards at the ongoing SCHLINGEL International Children's Film Festival in Germany.

Priyanka Chopra produced movie ‘Phauna’ is the story which revolvers around three Nepali children who get separated from their parents while fleeing the Maoist agitation from Nepal to Sikkim. This film got a very good response from the audience and also got succeed in winning the two awards. This film won the Best Film (Jury Choice) and Special Mention By Professional Jury in the International Feature Film Category.

The film is directed by Paakhi Tyrewala who struggled a lot for this film. She had been rejected 10 times by many producers. Finally its maricom actress who trusted Paakhi and backed her for this project.

Producer Madhu Chopra said to Mid-day that the film Pahuna is relevant anywhere in the world where there is conflict, dislocation and pain. She further added that Priyanka set up the production house with the idea of giving regional stories, artistes and crew, a pan-India presence and if possible, international exposure. With this, we have achieved global exposure.

Apart from this film, Rima Das directed film Village Rockstars is India’s official entry for the Oscars 2019 and made regional cinema proud at global platform.
