Priyanka Chopra started her career in Bollywood in 2003 after becoming Miss World. After a few films, she was overwhelmed and did many memorable roles. Priyanka has also carved a niche for herself in Hollywood through her work. She is currently making headlines for 'The Matrix Resurrections.' Priyanka Chopra may be happy that she is now getting the 'desired work' in Hollywood, but sad that South Asian actors still have to fight to get work in Hollywood.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently spoke about it in an exclusive conversation with our colleague Media and also shared the fun between working in 'The Matrix Resurrections.' Priyanka Chopra was asked that as an Indian actor in the US, you have become vocal about this. If we really want to become global, society has to rise above the colour and include Hollywood as well. Did you make any changes?
The lead role requires a lot of struggle: After which Priyanka has said, 'I don't think it's right. I think people need to be honest to create opportunities for people of different colours. As South Asian actresses, we don't have enough Hollywood opportunities right now. Have to struggle a lot to get a lead role or a lead character. It takes a lot of work in big commercial films.'
10 years in Hollywood, now I got the desired work: Priyanka has further said, 'I have been working in Hollywood for nearly 10 years and now I am finally doing what I wanted to do. It takes a lot of effort for the world to educate about talent and identity, which is said to be one of the South Asian artists. We are the 5th part of the world's population, but you don't see that thing in English language entertainment. I hope I can shoulder the responsibility of getting more opportunities. I had to work very hard to get such opportunities for myself as well.'
