Priyanka Gandhi arrives UP's Lalitpur, meet family of farmer who died waiting for fertilizer

Uttar Pradesh: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the Congress General Secretary, arrived in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday to meet with the family of a farmer who died while waiting to buy fertiliser.

Vadra is expected to travel to Lalitpur in Bundelkhand to meet the families of farmers who died recently, according to sources. The Congress leader also claimed that "fertiliser is in short supply in the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh."

Ajay Kumar Lallu, Uttar Pradesh Congress Chief in a tweet said: "Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi arrived Lalitpur. Will soon visit the affected farmer families. There is a severe shortage of fertilizers in the entire Bundelkhand including Lalitpur. Our "Annadaata" our dying back to back."

On Thursday, the Congresswoman met with her 'coolie brothers,' or porters, at Lucknow's Charbagh railway station. During the conversation, the porters told Vadra about their livelihood issues and the financial blow they received as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Priyanka Gandhi is the general secretary of the Uttar Pradesh-based All India Congress Committee. This news comes ahead of the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, which are set to take place in 2022.
