New Delhi: In view of the increase in cases of coronavirus, more than one lakh students of class 10th and 12th have signed petitions and urged the government to cancel the board examinations in May or get them online. Meanwhile, the Congress Party's National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, while targeting the CBSE, has called her irresponsible.

Along with this, the board has demanded to cancel the examination or reschedule. Priyanka Gandhi tweeted on Friday, saying, 'It is irresponsible for boards like CBSE to force students to sit for exams under the present circumstances. Board examinations should be canceled or rescheduled or arranged in such a way that there is no need for the physical presence of children in crowded centers'.

Actually, CBSE and Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) said that adequate arrangements have been made to protect the students and all the guidelines of coronavirus will be followed during the examinations. A petition on 'Change dot org' states, 'The situation in India is getting worse day by day. When there were few cases in the country, they canceled the rest of the board examinations and now when the cases are at the peak, they are planning to open schools. We urge the Education Minister to consider the matter and cancel all the examinations this year because the students are already under a lot of stress'.
