Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, daughter of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, turns 51 today, January 12, 2023.

Born into India's most influential political family, Priyanka  Gandhi has had a royal upbringing. Ever since she hit her teens, people have marveled at her striking resemblance to illustrious grandmother, former prime minister late Indira Gandhi.

Here are some Lesser Known Facts About Priyanka Gandhi

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has not been an active politician until January 2019. 

She managed her mother's 2004 campaign for Uttar Pradesh's assembly election. 
On January 23, 2019, she was named the Eastern Uttar Pradesh General Secretary of the Indian National Congress (INC). 
When the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections were taking place, she actively campaigned in Uttar Pradesh.

She read Hindi novels and poetry as a child and books about Indian Independence. She still indulges in this pastime today.
When she was 16 or 17, she gave her first political speech.

Maneka Gandhi, Priyanka's aunt, is a member of the BJP and served as a Union Minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government. Varun Gandhi, her cousin, is a member of the BJP and has served as an M.P. for the Sultanpur district.
Her position in the political sphere has always been murky; up until 2019, she didn't engage in active politics, yet she frequently runs campaigns for her mother and brother in their separate constituencies, Amethi and Raebareli.

Despite her assurances, she entered politics on January 23, 2019, taking up the role of General Secretary of the Congress Party for the eastern area of Uttar Pradesh.

Priyanka Gandhi is an avid photographer and has inherited this hobby from her father, Rajiv Gandhi.

She is a practitioner of Vipassana (taught by S. N. Goenka) and is a follower of Buddhist Philosophy.
