Lucknow: Party National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who is trying to cross the Congress electoral campaign in Uttar Pradesh with a push to bring women into the mainstream of politics, linked herself to a dialogue from Amitabh Bachchan's famous film Deewar, saying, "I have a sister (women). In fact, when asked if the Congress had no basis for caste or religion in Uttar Pradesh, it had started talking about women.

Priyanka replied, "Have you heard that dialogue of Amitabh Bachchan in Deewar? In it, Amitabh Bachchan asked his brother, "I have a car, I have a bungalow, this is it... He is..... Then Shashi Kapoor replied, "I have a mother." So, I am saying that I have a sister (women). It may be recalled that Priyanka Vadra is focusing more on politics focusing on women especially in the UP assembly elections.

Priyanka Gandhi has announced 40 per cent ticket to women in the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. With this, Priyanka had released the First Women's Manifesto Shakti Vidhan of the Congress on December 8. In this manifesto, he had made several promises including providing 40 per cent reservation to women in government jobs, 40 per cent reservation for women for ration shops, tax exemption to enterprises employing women equal to 50 per cent of their total manpower, priority for women in MGNREGA and 25 per cent posts in police force to women. Which Priyanka is telling at almost every rally.
