NEW DELHI: Congress chief Priyanka Gandhi on Monday took a hit on the authorities, saying it promised to make these sporting ‘hawai chappals’ journey by air however it has increased the prices of petrol and diesel a lot that it has develop into upsetting for the centre class to journey even by highway.

Petrol and diesel prices on Sunday have hiked again by 35 paise a litre and after this hike, the auto fuel was now costing a third more than the rate at which aviation turbine fuel is sold to airlines. Earlier on Sunday, Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi wrote a letter to PM Modi to convey "every citizen's anguish and deep distress regarding the spiralling fuel and gas prices."
