It may be recalled that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh had on Sunday levelled serious allegations of corruption against the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirthkshetra Trust and demanded an inquiry by the CBI and enforcement directorate (ED). Singh had claimed in Lucknow that The Trust's General Secretary Champat Rai, with the help of Anil Mishra, a member of the institute, purchased land worth Rs 2 crore for Rs 18 crore. He had said that it is a direct money laundering case and the government should CBI it and get it investigated by the Enforcement Directorate.
Former Ayodhya MLA Pawan Pandey, who was a minister in the previous Samajwadi Party (SP) government, also levelled similar allegations of corruption against Rai in Ayodhya and demanded a CBI probe into it. Reacting to this, Champat Rai said that he is not afraid of such allegations and will study the allegations.
