New Delhi: After taking the plunge into active politics Priyanka Gandhi has left no stone unturned to woo the voters. From helping injured journalists to visiting temples, the Congress general secretary of Uttar Pradesh East has enthralled everyone with her charm and grace.

However, it is to be noted that her recent tweet on micro-blogging platform Twitter unleashed a wave of trolls who descended on her timeline and trolled her viciously. Priyanka wished Kashmiri Pandits on their New Year’s Day but instead of Navreh Mubarak she wrote Nowruz Mubarak. For the uninitiated Nowruz is the Persian New Year.

One Twitter user wrote, “Ma'am Nauroze was on 21st March, & today is 5th April. You are too late. For your Edification, today is Navreh, please don't forget to Wish Navreh to your followers.

Here, to be noted that Priyanka had recently joined Twitter and has over 3 lakh followers on the micro-blogging site. Reaching out to her "Kashmiri sisters and brothers" she wrote: “Nauroz Mubarak to all my Kashmiri sisters and brothers!! Despite my mother’s “don’t forget to make the thali” messages, I had no time to make my thaali yesterday but came home after road show and found it placed on the dining table. How sweet are mom’s?”

Another user coming to Priyanka’s rescue wrote: “I belong to a KP family that migrated to the plains about 3 centuries back. Priyanka Vadra is right because we migrant Kashmiri Pandits of yore call our New Year's Day Navroz and not Navreh.” Priyanka’s is half Kashmiri Pandit from her maternal grandfather, Jawaharlal Nehru's side and part Parsi from her father Feroz Khan's side.
