Lucknow: The Congress today reached her home on Tuesday to meet the families of 10 people killed and 28 injured in the July 17 massacre at Umbha village under Ghoraval police station area of Sonbhadra in Uttar Pradesh. Priyanka Gandhi sat among the victims' families to ask about their whereabouts.
At the same time, Priyanka spoke to the injured and found out what her condition is now. On the other hand, a victim told Priyanka that her son was not involved in the incident, even after her son was accused and taken into custody by the police. Priyanka reassured and wrote down the baby's name. Describing Priyanka's visit as a political stunt, the Uttar Pradesh Yogi government said Priyanka should repent for the past acts of her own party leaders at Sonbhadra.
At about 10 a.m., Priyanka left Umbha village by road at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi. In the meantime, she tweeted, "I had promised the members of the families of the victims of Umbha village who came to meet me at the fort of Chunar that I would come to their village. Today, I am going to Sonbhadra to meet the sisters of Ubha village, to meet brothers and children, to listen to them, to share their struggles," she said.
