New Delhi: Protests and police action in Jamia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act have come under siege of the opposition central government. In this sequence, Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has sat on a dharna at India Gate along with other senior leaders of Congress. Priyanka along with KC Venugopal, Ambika Soni, Gulmanabi Azad, Ahmed Patel and AK Antony are also present.

Priyanka Vadra has said that the environment of the country has deteriorated. The police are entering the university and beating the students. The government is tampering with the constitution. We have to fight for the constitution. Along with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the National General Secretary of the Congress Party, the interim president of the Congress, Sonia Gandhi said that the Modi government itself has become the mother of violence and partition. The Modi government has pushed the country into a blind gulf of hatred and burnt the future of the youth in the fiery furnace.

Let us tell you that these days there have been reports of violent demonstrations against the Citizenship Amendment Act from different parts of the country. Demonstrations were also held at many places in Patna and Lucknow. Apart from this, vehicles in Assam and West Bengal were set on fire and railway property was damaged.
