Priyanka Gandhi slams Centre over petrol-diesel prices: 'Modi government is cutting pockets...'

Lucknow: The people of the country are facing a double whammy of inflation during the crisis of corona epidemic. From petrol, diesel to edible oil and pulses, prices have gone up. The Modi government at the Centre is the target of opposition parties over the ever-rising inflation. Meanwhile, Congress national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has also lashed out at the Modi government over price rise.

 

Priyanka Vadra in a tweet on Friday said the Modi government is cutting the pockets of the people. Priyanka Gandhi said in her tweet, "In the midst of the corona crisis, the people expected the government to give them relief, but the government has come up with a 'hurt scheme' for them. Petrol and diesel prices have gone up 52 times in 2021. The prices of mustard oil, refined, arhar, moong dal and sugar are on fire. The people are cutting their stomachs, while the Modi government is cutting pockets."

The prices of petrol and diesel are continuously increasing in the country. Petrol has become costlier by 23-27 paise per litre and diesel by 27-30 paise per litre in four major metros of the country today (June 18, 2021). Petrol price in the national capital has gone up by 27 paise and diesel by 28 paise per litre. This has been followed by petrol price at Rs 96.93 per litre and diesel at Rs 87.69 per litre in Delhi.
