New Delhi: Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has attacked the UP government while talking to the media during her detention in Sitapur. He said that whenever a section raises its voice in protest, the Yogi government makes excuses for law and order. Priyanka Gandhi also said that the UP police had not treated her properly and tried to forcibly take her along.

Priyanka also took a dig at BSP chief Mayawati, SP patron Mulayam Singh Yadav and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav saying they are not seen on the ground among the people. When Priyanka Gandhi was asked by the journalist whether the administration was saying that the situation in Lakhimpur was likely to worsen, therefore, politicians were not being allowed to go there. Priyanka Vadra said that the same thing was said when she was on her way. But later she went and nothing happened. 

On the question of being detained, Priyanka Gandhi said that her vehicle was cordoned off by women and male policemen. Priyanka said, 'I asked for legal order and it was not shown. At that time, I wanted to go to Lucknow PCC office and discuss with the media. But when the police behaved like this, I thought I should go to Lakhimpur.''
