Varanasi: Priyanka Vadra arrived at Varanasi airport at 9:50 a.m. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra met Congress workers as soon as she reached Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport in Babatpur and left the airport for a straight trauma centre. Priyanka Gandhi had reached the Trauma Centre to meet the seriously injured in the Sonbhadra massacre. Later, Priyanka Vadra rushed to the spot at Sonbhadra where ten people were killed for land capture.

 Earlier, several activists including Congress leader Ajay Rai had also reached the airport to welcome Priyanka Vadra. This is Priyanka's first visit to Varanasi after a road show ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

On the other hand, Priyanka's crew was stopped near Narayanpur as soon as she left Sonbhadra via Mirjapur. Priyanka and Congress workers sat on dharna there to protest the ban. The administration has also reached the spot after Priyanka Vadra was reported to have started 'Dharna' and she has been taken into custody after the situation worsened.
