Prayagraj: after the humiliating defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the national general secretary of the Congress and in-Charge of the eastern up, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is on a visit to Prayagraj on June 7. According to the information, she will hold a meeting here to review the debacle in the Lok Sabha polls. It will also deliberate on the assembly elections in the year 2022.

All the 40 candidates who contested from eastern up with Priyanka Vadra have been summoned to the meeting. At the same time, all the district collectors of eastern up have also been asked to come to this meeting. It is reported that a large number of officials in the Lok Sabha polls have held a clash with the party and there was opposition from the authorised candidates of the Congress at several places, and a list of such insurgent leaders has also been sought. In the same case, if sources are to be believed, many officials may fall.

It is noteworthy that even after Priyanka Gandhi Vadra landed in active politics, Congress got a humiliating defeat. Congress won only one seat in up. Not only did Congress party's national president Rahul Gandhi from Amethi lose the election. Though Sonia Gandhi retained the Rae Bareli seat near the Congress, however, her victory margin fell short.
