New Delhi: Congress Party National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday attacked the Narendra Modi government for increasing the rate of internet and calls of the main mobile service provider companies in the personal sector and alleged that "BJP can benefit its rich friends Is cutting the pockets of the poor for its rich friends."

"BJP had been bragging about making mobile Internet and calls cheaper for the last six years. Now that is gone, like hot air. BJP weakened BSNL, MTNL and opened the way for other companies to make calls and data expensive," Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, adding, "BJP is constantly cutting the pockets of the public to benefit its rich friends".

Earlier, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday expressed outrage over the ruthless incidents of rape and murder of a young girl in Hyderabad and a teenager in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, and said that now, instead of talking, steps have to be taken. He wrote in the tweet that, "I am deeply saddened by the incidents of rape and murder in Hyderabad and Sambhal." I have no words to express my indignation. "
